One man lifted all these trophies in a career that spanned 16 incredible years. His name is Victor Matfield, and he is an international and a South African sporting legend. You want to read his story. From growing up as a shy, sports-mad boy in the small town of Pietersburg, South Africa to reaching the pinnacle of success in his rugby career, Victor learnt the hard way about dealing with the pleasures and pressures of life as a professional sportsman. In this much anticipated autobiography, he talks candidly about his relationships with his coaches, including Heyneke Meyer, Jake White and Peter de Villiers, the strong bonds he forged with his team mates at the Bulls and in the national squad, and his deep love and respect for the Springbok jersey. He covers the many controversies that dogged South African rugby during his time, the rise of Bulls rugby and their lack of form in his last rugby season, the Boks' controversial quarter-final departure at the hands of Australia, from the Rugby World Cup in 2011, his retirement from rugby, and much more."--Publisher's description
