He represented a short but realistic ray of hope for true African democracy. His voice is extremely important for the current re-imagining of the continent, the African Renaissance and questions of nation-building and identity. Voices of liberation : Patrice Lumumba takes the series for the first time more broadly into the African continent ; this important book contains previously unpublished interviews as well as speeches and writings by Lumumba which constitute crucial contributions to the on-going struggle for liberation and social justice." -- Back cover.
